Castilian Moriscos exited north through France while Andalusians went south to ports
Evidence
Most of the Moriscos in question lived in Old and New Castile and in the province of Toledo, that is to say, to the south of Burgos. In the second place, it needs to be borne in mind that these particular Moriscos were only allowed to leave via the French frontier. It will be appreciated that this had them moving in the opposite direction from that taken by the Andalusians, who would have to go generally southward, to Seville or other Mediterranean ports. — L.
