Capital never fully extends economic laws into other social levels.

Evidence

There is no extensive passage, as we have said, in Capital in which the “laws of motion of the capitalist mode of production” are extended into the other levels of a social formation. But there are absolutely pivotal indications and traces of how this might be done, on the basis of Marx’s decipherment of capital’s secret. These do not add up to a thorough reworking of the base/superstructure problem. But they do, in sum, constitute an important, if incomplete, reflexive theoretical clarification. — Hall, Stuart, Essential Essays, Volume 1, 505
