Bob Jones University barred African Americans until 1971

Evidence

From its founding until 1971, Bob Jones University did not admit African Americans as students. Even then, they only admitted married blacks and adopted rules against interracial dating and marriage. This caused BJU to lose its tax-exempt status. It was not until 2000 that BJU changed its interracial dating rule. β€” Andrew L. Whitehead; Samuel L. Perry, Taking America Back for God, 726
