Black taxpayers funded an FHA that denied them loans while building white wealth
Evidence
The law sanctioned all of it. Legal antiblack discrimination continued for nearly a century after the end of slavery. The Federal Housing Administration, for example, legally engaged in redlining, whereby they refused to insure home loans in neighborhoods where black Americans lived. At the same time, black taxpayers funded FHA insurance and enabled the white middle class to build wealth through homeownership. — Dorothy A. Brown, Getting to Reparations, 589
