Black conceptual artists defined art by transcending its limits within creation context
Evidence
A work published in 1978 makes it possible for the first time to pursue a methodical analysis of these works. Entitled Contextures, this is the initiative of Linda Goode-Bryant and Marcy S. Phillips. The artists involved in the movement of Contextures define the properties of art in terms of the objective of going beyond their limits, while consequently integrating these limits into the context of creation. — David Theo Goldberg, John Solomos, A Companion to Racial and Ethnic Studies, 2926
