Biblical end-times prophecy predicts false prophets performing miracles to mislead Christians.

Evidence

The text could be cited further, and other important biblical texts could be used (the Prophets, the Apocalypse), but the essential scenario for the last days is clear: false Christs and false prophets will come, performing miracles and leading good Christians astray, performing acts of blasphemy, setting up the “abomination of desolation” in “the holy place.” These events will fulfill the prophecies of the Old Testament, reechoed verbatim (as so often) in the Gospels. — John V. Tolan, Saracens, 115
