Be-In invited visitors to lie in a tie-dye cave and contemplate mandalas

Evidence

Arriving beneath a huge painting of a tiger marked β€œen/trance,” visitors drifted through four rooms. One was a light garden where illuminated flowers were activated by switches built into the floor. Another contained a circular β€œcave” fashioned from tie-dyed cloth; inside, a similarly upholstered revolving couch allowed museumgoers to lie down and, among other things, contemplate the images of deities, demons, and mandalas silk-screened on the canopy above. β€” J.
