Authoritarians no longer differ from nonauthoritarians in sexual behavior

Evidence

I have written this chapter for two reasons. First, the sexual behavior of authoritarian and nonauthoritarian university students commands interest in its own right. I am reliably informed that students in the 1990s still think about sex and even occasionally do something about it. If you think sex plays a role in human endeavor, you might be interested in the role it plays in the endeavors of High and Low RWAs. Several studies have found that rightwing authoritarians tend to endorse traditional sex roles. I uncovered RWA Scale correlations of . among 200 female Manitoba students, and . among 135 males, with Spence and Helmreich’s (1978) Attitudes toward Women Scale in 1991. The figures for 265 mothers and 230 fathers were . and .52, respectively.
