Atlas’s network expanded from eight to nearly 500 members over four decades

Evidence

The early expansion of Atlas was rapid but controlled and geographically bounded. The Atlas network grew from eight members in 1981 to 122 in 1995. In the next twenty years the network would be nearly multiplied by four. In these two periods, Atlas deployed tools of intervention that were fitted to the specificities of the network and context. — Dieter Plehwe, Quinn Slobodian & Philip Mirowski (eds.), Nine Lives of Neoliberalism, 571
