Any shared hands-on practice qualifies as attention resistance

Evidence

We are talking about the way that mindfulness practices and free climbing—which, on the face of things look VERY different—are IN FACT, when leveled at the eyeball-extracting algorithms of the attention economy, powerful allies. Both have a common enemy, and both can give strength, tactics, and solidarity to the resistance—and so can countless others. We are talking about musicians, folks in reading groups, stamp collectors, welders, archers, moms-who-make-chili-together, people who sing in the choir. If you have something you do, with your mind and senses, with others, something that won’t admit of the siphon-suck of the attention frackers, you are an Attention Activist—and we need you. — The Friends of Attention, Attensity!, 314
