Ancestor veneration stems from participation in the vital force of the founders
Evidence
The vital force in the reality of the community reveals the reality of God, He who created the founders of the clan and the tribe, who by behaving correctly and following the laws of the Creator in turn have given birth to the people. In fact, each founder of the tribe or clan is the maximum expression of the same people. Generally, these are the ancestors. The sense of belonging and solidarity, therefore, means participation in the vital force of the ancestors, from which comes the cult of the latter (for the exact reason that they are believed to live with God). All this confirms that the vital force is a principle of the African identity. — Frans Dokman, Beyond Bantu Philosophy_…, 330
