Analyzing only subjective workplace reactions obscures the underlying management-labor conflict
Evidence
In both cases, there was a distortion of the fundamental contradiction between the interests of management and those of the employees. An analysis of the atmosphere in the workplace that restricted itself to the subjective reactions of employeesadmittedly an important indicator, but only one among severaland that was cautious about interpreting them, must willy-nilly contribute towards covering up the fundamental conflict of interest and merely concentrating on its symptoms. — Rolf Wiggershaus, The Frankfurt School, 2094
