Evidence

Most memorable of all in my experiences as an undergraduate student of Middle Eastern studies and politics in Israel was Professor David Farhi, a colonel in the IDF, at the time appointed to the military administration of the occupied West Bank, who used to teach courses on the history of the Ottoman Empire, attired, often flamboyantly, in full military uniform! — Wael Hallaq, Restating Orientalism, 942
