An interdisciplinary senior seminar can focus an entire course on food systems and sustainability
Evidence
In the fall of 2006, three teachers from Souhegan High School in Amherst New Hampshire, representing Social Studies, English/Language Arts, and Science, launched an interdisciplinary seminar for 12th graders focused on food systems and sustainability. Gary Schnakenberg, Ken Boisselle, and Melissa Chapman, joined by Rebecca while on sabbatical, planned and implemented this course, and were supported by a faculty Committee on Sustainability that served in an advisory capacity. — Rebecca A.
