An English regent of Castile issued early segregationist ordinances against non-Christians.

Evidence

The most specific with regard to Spain were actually ordinances issued in the early fifteenth century by an Englishwoman, Catherine of Lancaster, during her regency (FernĀ“andez y GonzĀ“alez 1866, 400–5). From this period before the forcible conversions, one might cite several segregationist tracts (Echevarria 1999, esp. 176–78). — L. P. Harvey, Muslims in Spain, 1500 to 1614, 1111
