Ambedkar turned Dewey’s associated living into a tool demanding democracy beyond politics
Evidence
Ambedkar is invoking the Deweyan concept of “associated life”, which he picks up and develops further into a political tool. Both Dewey and Ambedkar believed that democracy should not be restricted to the political realm, but should also manifest itself in other areas, such as education, industry and the public sphere.
