Airlines feed passenger data to TSA for automated watchlist matching before boarding
Evidence
Under the Secure Flight Program, airlines are required to provide TSA with passenger information such as name, gender, date of birth, redress number, and travel number. TSA compares the Secure Flight List to the No-Fly List and the Selectee List (Transportation Security Administration n.d.). If the Secure Flight List matches a passenger on the No-Fly List, the passenger is unable to board the flight. If a name on the Secure Flight List matches a name on the Selectee List, the passenger will go through additional security measures at the gate. If a name comes up on one of these TSA lists, passengers may go through up to three layers of enhanced screening before being allowed on the flight. — Saher Selod, Forever Suspect_ Racialized…, 164
