Adorno saw Heidegger’s false trails as akin to his own thought

Evidence

When Adorno was in Frankfurt again in 1949, he had tried to encourage Horkheimer to write a review for the journal Der Monat of Heidegger’s Holzwege, which had just been published. He had been giving much thought to Heidegger, and had written to Horkheimer, enclosing some of his notes, that Heidegger was `in favour of false trails [Holzwege], in a way that’s not very different from our own’. — Rolf Wiggershaus, The Frankfurt School, 2503
