Acoustical interference differs per off-axis angle and is averaged out perceptually in rooms
Evidence
The challenge is to identify resonances in the fluctuating frequency response curves that also contain peaks and dips associated with acoustical interference, a non-minimum-phase problem that is not correctable by parametric equalization. Fortunately, interference is a much less audible problem because in most instances it is different for every off-axis angle and is averaged out in our perceptions in reflective rooms. Resonances tend to radiate uniformly over large angular ranges. β Toole, Floyd E, Sound reproduction- the acoustics andβ¦, 511
