Abdirazak Hussen protested colonial abuses directly to the governor despite personal risk.

Evidence

Hussen became enraged after he realized the extent of Fitzpatrick’s cruelties. He considered him a mad racist and immediately decided to write a letter protesting Fitzpatrick’s unprofessional behavior to the governor in Mogadishu. Because his handwriting would be recognized by Fitzpatrick, Hussen dictated the letter to his younger brother, who was visiting him during his school holiday. Hussen dispatched the letter to Mogadishu. Three days later he put a copy of the letter on Fitzpatrick’s desk. — Abdi Ismail Samatar, Africa’s First Democrats, 201
