A single road links Labrador’s destructive extractive projects
Evidence
There’s only one road that transects Labrador, and it cuts it in half. That 500-kilometer, unpaved road links “developments” of the white people’s iron ore mines in western Labrador to the Churchill River hydro project and the Goose Bay military base. Driving it is sort of a road trip of ecologically destructive projects. Beyond the tree line is where there is life: caribou, wolf, bear, and Innu. — Winona LaDuke, All Our Relations, 363
