Were you or anyone involved in managing the conference aware that there were two descendants of Renty (from the Congo) in the audience during at least part of the conference? They live in Connecticut and have done much to flesh out the life story of Renty Taylor. The most vocal and visible of Renty’s descendants is Tamara K. Lanier, a Chief Probation Officer with the Connecticut Judicial Branch; Criminal Justice Chair, Connecticut State NAACP; and Vice President of the New London, CT branch of the NAACP.
