A living descendant of Louis Agassiz publicly supported Lanier’s lawsuit against Harvard.
Evidence
In the flurry of messages I received after we filed, one came in the form of a Facebook message—from Marian Moore, Louis Agassiz’s great-great-great-granddaughter. I opened it apprehensively: “Hi Tamara. I read about your important lawsuit in the Times. I applaud you. You are ‘a direct descendent of Renty’ and I am a direct descendent of Louis Agassiz—who wants to see justice and liberation made real. I was trying to see how I might be of service to y/our cause. If you are interested in being in touch, my email address is…. At your service, warmly and in solidarity, Marian Moore.” — Tamara Lanier, From These Roots, 866
