A horizontalist group member publicly declared it over without others’ consent

Evidence

In 2015 as Lava Jato blasted holes in Brazil’s democratic system, Lucas “Vegetable” Monteiro published an open letter with a devastating message. “Is the Movimento Passe Livre Over?” the headline asked, and his text immediately rendered his verdict. The Movimento Passe Livre had “reached its end.” This was not a decision the group had made itself. He was speaking out of turn and representing the group in the media without the others’ consent. One could not imagine a less horizontalist move. — Vincent Bevins, If We Burn, 626
