A general who warned of a coup was later purged for it
Evidence
It was later reported that the reason behind the accusation of Qorshel was not so much that he was planning a coup but that the regime found reports he wrote to Egal concerning the possibility of a military coup. These reports were discovered in Egal’s office, and it is said that Barre took this as a personal attack, although in retrospect Qorshel was proved right by the events.
