$326 billion in black farmland was lost to USDA discrimination and forced sales

Evidence

What about the 2.2 billion payout to black “and other minority” farmers that the Biden administration made in 2024? Shouldn’t that be considered an offset to the estimated 326 billion in black farmland lost “due to discriminatory lending practices from the USDA and the forced sale” of their land? Of course, but only that part of the $2.2 billion that was paid to black farmers. Neither do all the anti-poverty programs that benefited more white people than black count as reparations. Anti-poverty programs can disproportionately benefit black people, but one reason we need them for black people is that white supremacy kept taking black people’s property, increasing the likelihood of their living in poverty. — Dorothy A.
